We have taken extensive technical and operational precautions to protect your data from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. Our security procedures are regularly reviewed and adapted to technological progress.

3. Hosting

For the provision of our Boardstory program, we use infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space and database services, security services and technical maintenance services from our hosting service provider Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (Luxembourg). The following location is specified for AWS storage: Frankfurt am Main (Germany) eu-central-1.

The hosting provider processes content and usage data such as the IP address of users of our website in order to provide our contractual services and on the basis of our legitimate interests in the efficient and secure provision of this website.

4. Retention of Your Personal Data

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain usage data for internal analysis purposes. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

6. Web Analytics with Matomo

We use the open-source web analytics tool Matomo, which is self-hosted on our servers in Germany. Matomo helps us understand and improve the use of our website (e.g., visited pages, duration of stay, entry/exit pages, devices/browsers, general referrers). IP addresses are anonymized before analysis by masking the last two octets. To determine the unique number of visitors per month, we use a data-minimizing, consent-based identifier (cookie). There is no tracking across third-party websites, no profiling for advertising purposes, and no sharing with third parties. Data processing takes place exclusively on servers in Germany (self-hosted).

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR in conjunction with the TTDSG). You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect (e.g., via the privacy settings).
